Dr rob phillips he'll be in here he's going to talk about what Christian apologetics is and it's going to be a great time he's the author of nine different books and his books will be available for you to purchase at a steep steep steep discount and so everything from topics on satan to what Christ was doing before bethlehem and so lots of great stuff he is a partner with the missouri baptist convention and leader of one of their strategic resources and so we're very blessed to have him as well as a member of the apologetics network his name is Adam cochran he'll be here at 3 30. He's going to talk about what presuppositional apologetics is because everyone has their presuppositions and how do we share the Gospel in light of people's presuppositions that's gonna be taking place at 3 30 5 o'clock is a carry in dinner it's gonna be great we're baptists we love potlucks amen and then at six o'clock we're going to have our final session which dr phillips is going to talk about four signs of a false teacher and how to identify them using apologetics as well so it's going to be a very great very informative sunday now this past week I was also contacted by a guy named dr Timothy faber he's the leader of the lake ozark baptist association and he said listen we know that you guys aren't a part of our association but we need some help there's a small church right up the road from you guys that are bringing in some missionaries with the international mission board in the north american I said okay I'm listening he said they need a place to come and share on
Monday and tuesday that's september 12th and september 13th and we want you to kind of get an idea of some of these missionaries that we support through the cooperative program giving I said what do we need to do he said open up your doors and bring people I said I think that we might be able to do that and so if you've never had an opportunity to meet an a member of the international mission board or anyone affiliated with that this is a great opportunity for you to know where your cooperative program dollars go and so you're invited to be a part of that's september 12th and 13th it's a busy time coming up but that's okay it'll slow down now I believe that's all that I had and praise the Lord amen now what I would like for us to do is spend a moment and just close our eyes and bow our heads and just spend a little bit of time preparing our hearts for the worship of God maybe you're here and you've been like me and it's been a week it's been a busy just take a moment and ask the Lord to slow you down that you might be able to hear God's word today maybe you're here and it's just been it's been a hard season tell the Lord about that maybe it's been some bad health news maybe a wandering child from the Lord tell the Lord about that perhaps you're not excited to be here maybe you're here out of duty or a host of other reasons ask the Lord to reveal his presence to you this morning Lord we ask that you would this morning help us to put aside those things that would hinder us and help us to run headlong after you Lord help us to worship with abandon to worship the way that you would have us worship in spirit and in truth God let us be amazed at your Gospel this morning and help us to praise you for it in Jesus name we pray amen well church if you look around you probably see some more faces than usual and some of those faces might be smaller faces than you're used to in the service and that's an awesome thing that we're excited about this morning and so we invite you young and old and everything in between to stand with us and to worship our Lord and Savior together this morning in one voice and one heart [Music] come set your rule and reign in our hearts again increase in us we pray we're made come set our hearts ablaze with hope like wildfire in our very souls Holy Spirit come in we need your power in us we seek your kingdom first we hunger and we thirst refuse to waste our lives for your our joy and prize to see the captives hearts released the hurt the sick the poor peace we lay down our lives forever cost are your church we pray revive this earth [Music] build your kingdom here let the darkness fear show your mighty hand heal our streets and land
Set your church on fire when this nation back change [Music] we break unleash your kingdom's power reaching the near and far no force of hell can stop your beauty changing hearts you made us for much more than this awake the kingdom seed in us fill us with the strength and love of Christ [Music] we are your church [Music] we are the hope on earth [Music] build your kingdom here let the darkness fear show your mighty [Music] change the atmosphere build your kingdom here we pray build your kingdom here let the darkness fear show your mighty hand heal our streets and land set your church on fire when this nation back change the atmosphere build your kingdom here we pray [Music] [Applause] well you all can be seated so since we knew that we were going to have your kids in service with us today we wanted to make sure that we were able to minister to parents and kids and grandparents and families
And so what we're going to do today may look just a little bit different and I think that's a good thing what we're going to ask you to do in just a second is we're going to ask families to discuss the next song that we're going to sing which is Christ our hope in life and death and to give you the resources for that on the screen we should have yeah there it is just a few points in Scriptures that point to the truths within this song they cycle like every 20 seconds or something so if you miss something just wait it'll come back around but we yeah so this works especially well for those of you who are parents with younger kids that are with you today but you know look around that's not nearly all of us there's several of us who maybe have grandkids or maybe we have teenagers that we couldn't get out of bed this morning I don't know and so as part of that family worship we also recognize that we are the family of God called to worship with and to minister to one another and so I want you to look around people near you maybe someone way across the room I don't know that you can worship within this time as we've discussed these truths of this next song that we're going to sing these scriptural truths that Christ is our hope in life and in death so I invite you now to get in a position where you can minister to your families to read these Scriptures to one another and to worship through a study of God's word [Music] even if all you do today is read the Scriptures to those near you
Read the Scriptures with those around you I think God is glorified in that [Music] so [Music] so [Music] so [Music] what a glorious sound it is to hear the saints praising the name of the Lord Jesus Christ worshiping by reading his word and discussing it with one another I invite you now to join me in prayer as we continue to worship together [Music] Lord we thank you we thank you for this opportunity to worship together in our family units which God we know that you ordained but also Lord as the family of God united in the adoption that we all share in the blood of Jesus Christ if indeed we believe Lord we thank you we thank you for the opportunity to praise you openly and loudly we thank you for the opportunity to lead our families in lives that glorify and honor you and it's in Jesus name we pray together amen invite you to stand again and join us as we sing Christ our hope in life and death [Music] what is our hope in life and death Christ alone Christ alone what is our only confidence that our souls to him be long who holds our days within his hand what comes apart from his command and what will keep us to the end the love of Christ in which we stand sing hallelujah our hope springs eternal [Music]
Christ our hope in life and [Music] what truth can call the troubled soul God is good where is his grace and goodness known in our great Redeemer's blood who holds our faith when fears arise who stands above the stormy trial who sins the waves that bring us nigh unto the shore the rock of Christ oh sing hallelujah [Music] what will we [Music] confession around you the younger ones bruised
