Sermon
We gather today to honor and celebrate the life of our dear sister in Christ, Denise Johnson, who faithfully served as a missionary among the Palaka people. Her dedication to the Gospel, her love for the Word of God, and her compassion for the lost testify to a life well-lived for the Lord.
Service begins: Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 10:00 AM (Central Time)

Ways you can honor Denise’s legacy:
Join us in giving thanks to God for the life of Denise — her faith, her service, and the eternal hope she lived in.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to the Palaka Team Account supporting the people whom Denise loved and served in Africa. To give, go to the link above and under “Give,” open the dropdown titled “Add instructions, designations or notes” — simply write: “Palaka Team Account” to ensure your gift is designated accordingly.
Pray for the Johnson family — her husband Verne, her children Christy, Seth, Matt and Bob, and their families. Ask the Lord to comfort them, sustain them by His grace, and bring them hope in the midst of grief.
“Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.”
— Matthew 5:4
Denise’s journey took her from Wisconsin to the Ivory Coast and beyond, engaging in medical work, literacy, Bible translation and discipleship among the Palaka people. She leaves behind not only a committed family but also a living testimony of Christ’s redeeming love in places many never see.
Thank you for joining us in remembering Denise — may this time of worship, reflection, and fellowship point us afresh to the living hope we have in Jesus Christ.
