Sermon

What does Pentecost really mean?
The crowd in Jerusalem was amazed by the sound of the wind, the tongues of fire, and the disciples speaking in languages they had never learned. But Peter makes it clear that Pentecost is not ultimately about tongues, signs, or even the arrival of the Holy Spirit. Pentecost is about Jesus Christ.
In Acts 2:22–36, Peter moves from explaining what happened at Pentecost to proclaiming who made it happen. His message is bold and unmistakable: the Jesus whom Israel rejected, God has publicly vindicated. Through His earthly ministry, His sacrificial death, His resurrection from the dead, and His exaltation to the Father's right hand, God has rendered His verdict on Jesus Christ.
This sermon explores the four ways God Himself vindicated His Son and calls every listener to respond to God's verdict concerning Jesus.
