85 and so I would I would encourage you to prayerfully give we pray and we teach the New Testament principles of giving generously giving specifically giving prayerfully giving hilariously we preach that and I believe that but I just went we were talking about how do we emphasize giving and so if you're here and you're like you know it's been a while since I since I gave your church feels that and we have to make decisions on how we can serve and how we can Minister and things that we have to step back on when people don't give regularly and so you can give by going online to the website you can give by giving to the in the offering plates you can give through texting there's directions on the back of the bulletin but one of the New Testament principles is that we give and that's one of our Church's principles is generous giving and so I'll just ask you to pray about that in giving to the local church so I love you that's
Do y'all still love me okay yeah all right so uncomfortable conversations but we have to have them if you have your Bible and I hope that you do turn with me to Luke chapter one Luke chapter one is where we're going to be today and y'all might remember that we were there just a short time ago last week exactly and we talked about Zachariah and Elizabeth and that whole scene this week we are going to be looking at some new characters in this series that we are in now we're going to be in verses 26 through 38. And I'll be honest with you we're going to be talking about Mary she's the mother of the Lord Jesus Christ and Mary is one of the most misunderstood people in the entirety of the Scriptures and I'll be honest with you Baptists we may be tempted maybe to minimize Mary's importance and but there are many others you know like our Catholic neighbors that seek to venerate her or worship Mary but today I hope that I strike an appropriate balance of honoring she is our sister in Christ she was redeemed Just Like Us by faith alone in the work of her son on the cross for her and so I want to honor her as a sister in Christ but I also want to explain the text and we're talking about messages today messages and so if you have your notes okay get those things ready because we're going to be moving along here anybody did anybody ever grow up doing an AOL instant messaging okay you
Spend any time doing that okay there's a few of you AOL instant messaging it was actually not that long ago that we were still doing that because it cost like 10 cents per text to send those out you guys remember that 10 cents a text how much would your would your phone bill be your cell phone bill if you spent ten dollars per or ten cents per text like it adds up quick I remember I was in college it was 2005. And my aim screen name was trollmunk 86. That's just very embarrassing yeah it was a nickname that my sister gave me is stupid and I spent the evening's messaging angel cake qt15 and she's sitting right over there and so but you know we were at Liberty we had a curfew we couldn't talk past 10 unless unless it was on AOL instant messenger and we would message each other and messages they're kind of funny because I mean right now we got these wonderful things that we get to carry around in our pockets and they got our friends and our family and we can FaceTime on them you know and we can talk with people anybody doing face timing over Thanksgiving you know talking to family that you haven't seen praise the Lord for these things they're wonderful wonderful ways to get messages out but it didn't always used to be that way I want to show you guys a map here see if this is working it's not working okay all right just let me go back here all right it's not working so you guys are gonna have to hang out back there it's all right so this is a map of the ancient world in order to get from Rome to Athens it would take if it was a really really Urgent Message like to the military it would take roughly about maybe maybe seven eight days to get from Rome to Athens a message across the little part of the Mediterranean there I mean and that's booking it that's chucking it right
In order to get a message from Rome I wish I had a little laser pointer there from Rome all the way down to caesarea Philippi that's located on the coast of the Mediterranean in modern day Israel it would take roughly 14 days but what if you were just trying to get a message to a family member that you hadn't seen in a while it would take roughly about 128 days if you were just say hey so-and-so had a baby hope to see you at Christmas right it would take you it would take 128 days to get a message to someone and today we are going to be looking at God he is the author of time and space he can do whatever he wants to according to his character and he has a special message for Mary and so if you would stand with me in honor of God's word as we read Luke chapter one at this message that God sends through an angel starting in verse 26. God's word says this in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city of Galilee named Nazareth to a virgin betrothed to a man whose name was Joseph of the House of David the virgin's name was Mary and he came to her and said greetings o favored one the Lord is with you but she was greatly troubled at the saying and tried to discern what sort of greeting this might be the angel said to her do not be afraid Mary for you have found favor with God and behold you will conceive in your womb and bear a son and he shall and you shall call his name Jesus he will be great and will be called the son of the most high the Lord God will give him the Throne of his father David he will reign over the house of Jacob forever and of his kingdom there will be no end
Mary said to the angel how will this be since I am a virgin Angel answered her the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the spirit will come upon you and power the most high will overshadow you therefore the child to be born will be called holy Son of God and behold your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived a son this is the sixth month with her who was called Barren for nothing will be impossible with God and Mary said behold I am the servant of the Lord let it be to me according to your word and the angel departed from her let's pray so God we do thank you for your word we do pray that today that our hearts and our minds our whole self will be open to the message that you have for us today Lord make our self small let us not have think of ourselves too highly or may we be humble may we be meek let us receive this word that you have given through your servant Luke God I just pray that you would help me Lord in the midst of a busy world and a busy season God we your people are here to worship you which we've done and now we continue worship through the preaching of your word and so help us God to leave here transformed and equipped to share the message of the Gospel with the world that desperately needs to hear it and believe in God in Jesus name amen well as we're looking at this passage this is the sixth month this isn't the sixth month of the Jewish calendar or of the Gregorian calendar this is the sixth month of Elizabeth of Elizabeth's pregnancy and we know that based upon the context and the usage of Time In this passage it says in chapter 1 verse
24 that Elizabeth she kept herself hidden for five months meaning that she kept her conception of John the Baptist a secret she kept herself hidden for five months and we read in verse 37 that she is in her sixth month now some people they tried to discredit the birth of the Lord Jesus Christ and they say well Christians should not celebrate Christmas or anything like that they shouldn't celebrate any certain days or anything like that listen the New Testament principle is found in Colossians chapter 2 verses 16 and 17. So if you wrestle with should Christians celebrate Christmas look at what the Bible says it says therefore let no one pass judgment on you in questions of food and drink or with regard to a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath these are a shadow of the things to come but the substance belongs to Christ and so I'll offer you some thoughts that Pastor Jeff Durbin he's pastor of apologia Church in Phoenix he said this he said if you don't want to celebrate the Advent of the Messiah then don't celebrate it and don't celebrate it to the glory of God and I honor you and your commitment however if you do celebrate the Advent of the Messiah you should celebrate it so it doesn't look like a normal celebration it should be better and louder than our other celebrations to the glory of God and so this Advent season that we talk about this whole Christmas season is it is not about the lights it's not about trees it's not about candles it's not about Rudolph it's not about Santa it's it's all about the birth of Jesus Christ that's what the Christmas season is all about it is about Jesus who came in flesh he robed himself in flesh and he had he came to purchase and he came to redeem sinners from hell it's the Christmas season it's about loving
Our neighbor it's about Good Will toward men it's about peace and it looks forward to the Cross which we celebrate at on Resurrection Sunday I should say but we've seen Gabriel right and so let's take a look at the passage the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God and we've seen a lot of the angel Gabriel we were in Daniel and we got to see Gabriel a lot in the midst of that we saw Gabriel bringing a message to Zechariah last week and here is Gabriel doing the same thing he's delivering a message from God to a little city called Nazareth now here's here's some pictures of just some recent excavations of Nazareth do we have those and what we see here is these are from the first century you got the excavations up there should be no okay there we go yeah so this is actually in Nazareth Nazareth was a city population of about 400. It didn't have a whole lot going on it had a public bath and it had a little bit of agricultural development and that's it was actually really hard to access so you know you're talking about a backwoods kind of area okay and this is excavation of a home from the first century of course the archaeologist is like this could be the house of Jesus and it's like yeah it could be it could not be he doesn't know but you look at how narrow it is and everything you know the reason why is because it was it was a small town it was a small area and you know they weren't able to put a whole lot of money or effort into it and this is the background that Mary comes from this is where she was raised now Gabriel he isn't just sent to a place but he's sent to a person I want you to write down if you're taking notes The Giver of the message Point number one
And the second Point here is the recipient of the message you see Jewish girls namely this girl Mary that we're going to look at they were first considered to be available for marriage around the between the ages of 13 to 16. That's when they were first considered available for marriage and so most commentators agree that she was probably about the age of 14 when this message is received now that word virgin it appears three times in this passage it's almost like God really wants us to really understand that this girl was had never been with a man that this is a miraculous event and a lot of folks are going to try to explain away the passage and say well you know science says this or this could have happened biologically it's best for us to receive God's word simply as it's written and it says that she was a virgin and she remained a virgin until the birth of Christ at which point Joseph and her they consummated their marriage she had other children which means that she's not a Perpetual virgin okay Luke he was what was his profession do you guys know actor a physician right he was a classically trained guy he was Greek and it's very interesting that the man who would probably be most interested in human physiology and biology and the conception he writes down three times that she is a virgin here and she was betrothed that's another thing we know about Mary she was betrothed to this man named Joseph this means that they were formally agreed to be wed and then up in an upcoming time and it wasn't like engagements where you know oh I'm just gonna break off the engagement I'm going to cancel it's like Hallmark film it's over it's done and it's not like that okay
During this time it was actually a legally binding agreement that I am committed to you're committed to me we will our fathers will fulfill the contractual obligations and once all of that's done we're going to have a week-long party to celebrate and it's going to be awesome and then the celebration of the marriage and it couldn't be done away with just with a decision there actually had to be an annulment a divorce a certificate of divorce had to be given now this guy Joseph that she was engaged to he was of the line of David and for us we look at that we're like whoa he's from the line of David well back during this time it didn't really account for a lot what I mean is that yeah he came from that line but it's not like there was a whole lot of wealth there wasn't any Prestige really it's not like he had these this great wonderful position of authority he was a carpenter he was a blue-collar guy he was just a regular dude but God he did make a promise to David in second Samuel second Samuel chapter 7 verses 12-13 God makes this promise to David it says when your days are fulfilled you lie down with your fathers I will raise up your Offspring after you who shall come from your body and I will establish his kingdom you shall build a house for my name and I will establish the Throne of his kingdom forever and this is partially fulfilled by Solomon but it is fully realized in Jesus Christ when Jesus when he's entering Jerusalem on Palm Sunday the people are shouting out Hosanna Hosanna to the son of David in Mark chapter 1 verse 1 or in Matthew chapter one verse one it begins with Christ's genealogy and it says the book of the genealogy of Jesus Christ the son of David and we learned the virgin's name is Mary and Gabriel he comes to her and he says he gives her this
Greeting Greetings oh favored one the Lord is with you and that greeting is really unique because it's Cairo kikara tolmane which could be understood as hailed to you highly favored one now this is interesting because it's the same root word for both of those words in the Greek it both shame the same etymology and it's that Greek word Harris which we would read it as Charis but that simply means Grace it means favor God's complete and unlimited favor and we see a combination of these words used elsewhere in the New Testament and in Ephesians chapter 1 verses 6 and 7 it says this his glorious Grace with which he has blessed us his grace there's zacharus and then you have that with which he has blessed us it's that same word in the Beloved in him we have Redemption through his blood the Forgiveness of our trespasses according to the riches of his grace and so we can understand this that Mary is a recipient of the grace of God just like you and I there was not some special piety that she had it wasn't something innate in her with which God chose her for this special task it is because God sovereignly picked her to be the mother of the son of God by his own Grace and so what do we know about Mary up to this point we know that she's a young woman who lived in Nazareth she's engaged to a man named Joseph her name is Mary there's nothing spectacular other than God has his grace on her and Gabriel continues on he says the Lord is with you now he says that but that has never ever in the history of Scripture that could find okay been said to a woman in judges Gideon he has an encounter with the angel Lord he greets them the Lord is with you o Mighty Man of Valor
And we don't see that phrase very often in Scripture but never before given to Mary and this is disturbing to her she's confused by this like who are you what's going on and it's a confusing greeting and not only is there an angel here but she's talked but this Angel is talking to her like she's someone really special and what she doesn't realize is that she is very special she has been chosen by God for the most important motherly role of all time we talked about that in my community group and as I say get involved in a community group we were talking about you know if being entrusted with the birth of John the Baptist and how daunting of a task that would be to prepare the way of the Lord this one how much more so would you feel that pressure like don't mess up right and as parents how many times do we feel like we mess up but yet we see God's grace even in that but not only is there an angel there he's talking to her like she's special she is but her face must have shown exactly how Disturbed she was because the angel says this do not be afraid for you have found favor with God there's that there's that Greek word again favor Grace in many of the Old Testament heroes are described in this way of having favor with God we see in Exodus chapter 33 verse 17 it says that the Lord said to Moses this very thing you have spoken I will do for you have found favor in my sight in Genesis chapter 6 verses 7 and 8 the Lord he said I will blot out man whom I have created from the face of the land man and animals and creeping things and birds of the heavens for I am sorry that I have made them but Noah found favor in the eyes of the Lord
In Acts chapter 7 verses 45 and 46 our fathers in turn brought it in with Joshua when they dispossessed the Nations that drove that God drove out before our fathers so it was until the days of David who found favor in the sight of God and so you have all of these different people all over the Old Testament and it's not like they were like particularly skilled or particularly good or they had this like gigantic faith that made them special what we see at the outset of the ministry is God's grace upon them and so let's take a look at Point number three the content of the message look at verse 31 and behold this means now behold now this is an authoritative declaration now you will conceive in your womb and bear a son that's the Declaration and so this should immediately draw our minds back to Isaiah chapter 7 verse 14. It's a prophecy where it says therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign behold the Virgin will conceive and bear a son and shall call his name Emmanuel notice there that Gabriel when he greeted Mary he said greetings o favored one the Lord is with you that's what Emmanuel means God with us and then the angel gives five predictions about what this son that Mary would give birth to will be like the first thing there's not like notes or anything so just write them in the margins or anything like wherever you can squeeze it but or you can just read the passage it's he will be great right just follow the passage he will be great that word Greek in the Greek is the word megas it's where we get our word Mega from and when we think of Mega we think of maybe like I know in my home it's like Megalodon you know or mega sale or something like that when we see Mega in Scripture it's not in reference to like a really good deal it's in reference to the
Importance the wonderfulness the Majesty Jesus is incomparable there is no one like him it's literally why our entire calendar is totally focused around the birth of Jesus Christ we see BC and AD anno domini the year of Our Lord now it's BC and CE right you know they're like before CR before the Common Era BCE and the Common Era or as I like to say it's still cry Sarah right it's still it's still his we're under his authority woohoo but the second thing is that oh before I move on but he will be great which is completely unlike you and I amen we will we will live for the glory of God as his people we will disciple our children we will die and most of us will be forgotten it's kind of daunting isn't it but remember that what God does between between that birth date and that death date the daesh live for the dash invest in your children disciple them minister to them lead them to the Lord it's the most important task that God has entrusted you with before God created the church he created the family how important is it to reach your family with the Gospel don't neglect that task secondly he will be called the son of the most high so Jesus he will be called The Son of God and this is the confession of every single believer this is the confession you look at Mark chapter 1 verse one it introduces the book as the beginning of the Gospel of Jesus Christ the son of God in John chapter 20 which kind of summarizes the whole purpose of the Book
Of John it says these were written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ the son of God and that by believing you may have life in his name Paul after his conversion experience on the Damascus Road in Acts chapter 9 verse 20 immediately Proclaim Jesus in the synagogue saying he is the son of God in Hebrews chapter 4 verse 14 since then you have a great high priest who passed through the heavens Jesus the son of God so let us hold fast to our confession Jesus is the son of God and no one can be saved apart from that confession of submitting ourselves to him as the son of God the Lord three the Lord will give him the Throne of his father David and this is a direct fulfillment of that promise that we read earlier in second Samuel 7. That promise was made nearly a thousand years a thousand years before Christ was born and I want you to know that God is not slow to fulfill his promises from our perspective maybe it seems that way but he's not because he's working out an eternal Plan of Redemption by which through which he has sent his son at the right time to make atonement for our sins fourthly he will reign over the house of Jacob this is almost a similar prediction pointing to Christ's kingly Authority Jesus isn't just like David as a king Jesus is the greater David he didn't Deliver Us from the enemies of like Goliath and like the surrounding enemies of Israel he delivered us from death in hell and sin and look at Point number five here his kingdom will never end in Daniel chapter 7 verse 14 there is a vision of Christ and Daniel he saw in the night visions and he wrote and to him was given dominion and glory and a kingdom that all peoples Nations and languages should
Serve him his Dominion is an everlasting Dominion which shall not pass away in his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed the kingdom that Christ has established will never go away it will never end and you and I as Believers in Jesus Christ we are ambassadors of that Kingdom that's why we go that's why we are blessed to have students and teachers from ethnos 360 here that we can love on them and equip them for that short period of time and really invest in them and then they go and most of them will never see again but you know what praise the Lord because we will see them again in the Kingdom you know at least two Societies in the 20th century they have tried and they have failed to destroy Christianity you know the Soviet Union in China and neither one of them were in any way shape or form successful the largest church in the world you know where that is now China praise the Lord amen you know it's it said the blood of Martyrs is the seed of the Gospel you know where the fastest growing Church in the world is it's in Afghanistan the fastest growing church and it's not because of American Christians it's because of Iranian Believers that are going to Afghanistan and reaching their brothers and sisters with the Gospel praise the Lord amen Jesus's Dominion is an everlasting dominion and it will not pass away and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed and so regardless of what this world has to throw at us no matter what it is that might come down the pike we can rest assured that God's kingdom will thrive now Mary she's been sitting there kind of has this it kind of stunned as this messenger this greeting the actual
Message and she's probably sitting there and she's like hold up I need a little bit of clarification right now I need you to just explain some things to me Gabriel and so if you're taking notes write that down the clarification of the message how will this be since I am a virgin now I really kind of looked at that verse real close and I wrote out a literal translation for you guys how is this to take place because I have never been with a man how is this to take place because I have never been with a man and one of the reasons why I had to sit down and really go into that was because I was wrestling with that because as we looked at last week Zachariah he's sitting down and he asks a question right how will this be since I'm an old man you know and he's struck with what are you mutinous yeah he can't talk but then here I am just reading Mary who asks a very similar question and she's not struck with anything and I really wrestled with that I was like what is going on here and the reason is because Zachariah he was asking for a sign because he did not believe he didn't believe the message but Mary she's asking more or less a practical question how which is a good question Gabriel he answers very gently because Mary has faith she just wants to know how and so the angel if you're taking notes writes this down the explanation of the message look at verses 35-37 the Holy Spirit will come upon you the power of the most high will overshadow you therefore the child to be born will be called holy the son of God behold your relative Elizabeth in her old age has also conceived his son this is the sixth month with her who was called Barren for nothing will be
Impossible with God Christ he is conceived by Mary as a result of divine activity there's not any sort of crude activity that takes place and that word overshadow in the Greek it's episcopso it means the powerful presence of God back in the time of Christ the Jews that would read from What's called the Septuagint it's a Greek translation of the Old Testament and when you look at the Septuagint it's that word episcopso is the same word of the Shekinah Cloud when it came down to dwell upon the Tabernacle same word it's also the same word that's used to describe the cloud that comes down on the Mount of where Christ was transfigured it's the powerful presence of God it is a spiritual activity where the second member of the Trinity is he's the word and the word became flesh robed itself in flesh and dwelt among us as the Son of God and so the angel he gives a sign for Mary too regarding Elizabeth that if Elizabeth as a senior adult who had been bearing all of her life could give birth then surely the creator of the universe could bring this miracle to completion without the participation of a guy and why is that because with God nothing is impossible amen now I want to be careful here because there's a lot of people that have hijacked that verse completely out of its context and they're like you know that means that my particular goals or my vision for my life that may seem impossible but you know With God all things are possible Right this verse is not about God blessing your hard work it's not about God blessing your effort it's not about making lofty goals attainable it's not about your bank account your education your health your home it's about the God of the Universe interceding on behalf of humankind to bring about salvation through the birth
Life Death burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ the whole point of this passage is for us to receive the testimony as it is written and now you and I we can believe that as Christ came into the World by a miracle he now works an even greater miracle in Raising Dead Sinners to life and peace with God and God he is still in the business of doing that impossible work amen look at verse 38 this is the final point the belief of the message this is what God's word says and Mary said behold I am the servant of the Lord let it be to me according to your word and the angel departed from her as we said the whole it means now this is a message that prompted her immediate obedience and so instead of being resistant to it she leaned into it and she just presented herself as a servant that word in the Greek servant is the Greek word dulay oftentimes you would see in an Paul's letter she would see him introduce himself as a doulos that means a slave this is dulay which means a slave girl and so that's how she presents herself to this message from the Lord I am a slave girl she chose to submit herself to the message of the angel she said okay Lord I am willing and so don't don't gloss over that okay because Mary's putting a lot at stake here by being submissive I mean think about it she is putting her entire reputation at stake Nazareth that little town of 400 people you if you ever lived in a small town you know how that rumor mill gets to going right did you hear about Mary there's something about her I heard that she's pregnant no who do you think the father is I don't know who do you think it could be I don't know I've got a good idea she's engaged all of a sudden that rumor mill gets to
Go on and people are talking and her reputation could be totally devastated can you imagine the gossip can you imagine the slander secondly think about the reputation or the relationships that are at stake for her I mean Joseph he's a righteous man but his fiance is pregnant what is he going to do with that I mean we can all understand if he just wanted to wash his hands and be done with the situation and actually that's why he resolves in his heart to do look with turnover to Matthew chapter one I want you to read what Joseph resolves to do here Matthew chapter 1 verses 18 through 25 it says now the birth of Jesus Christ took place in this way when his mother married had been betrothed to Joseph before they came together she was found to be with child from the Holy Spirit and her husband Joseph being a just man and unwilling to put her to shame resolved to divorce her quietly but as he considered these things behold an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream seeing Joseph son of David do not fear to take Mary as your wife for that which is conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit he she will bear you bear a son and you shall call his name Jesus for he will save his people from their sins all this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet behold the Virgin shall conceive and bear a son and they shall call his name Emmanuel which means God with us when Joseph woke from the sleep he did as the angel of the Lord commanded him he took his wife but knew her not until she had given birth to a son and he called his name Jesus now we don't even know what Mary's parents thought of the whole situation can you imagine the tension the distress the heartache the wandering
And thirdly I want you to understand she's actually putting down her very life according to the law of Moses adultery was a capital offense now it wasn't carried out very often but it was a possibility and without the Lord's protection her life could be forfeit but Mary she was humble she was obedient she's submissive to God's calling on her life and God was glorified through her obedience and she heard that message of the angel that was given to her and I want to ask you if you have responded to the message of the Gospel that saves your soul see there's a lot of people that are curious about Christianity they wonder about it but there's a lot of people that don't believe in Christ because of Christians themselves and I want to I want to caution you to be careful about that because Christianity is not about Christians Christianity is about Christ in a Christian they can't change your Eternal state but faith in the message of the Gospel can see we are sinners in need of Salvation we've all lied we've all lusted we've all stolen we've all cheated we've all fallen short of the glory of God but God he did not leave us to despair you see the message of the Gospel is found most plainly in First Corinthians chapter 15 verses 3 through 5 it says for I delivered to you as a first importance but what I also received that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures that he was buried that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures and that he appeared to cephas and then to the twelve and that's simply the message of the Gospel that Christ he died on your behalf he substituted his life for your life he died to take that place he was buried he actually died he was actually
Buried in a grave and there's the evidence for it he was seen also by hundreds after his resurrection he rose again on the third day and now he is seated at the right hand of God I mean we have eyewitness accounts and eyewitness accounts are some of the best some of the best evidences in the court of law and we have hundreds of eyewitness accounts the good news of the Gospel is that Jesus Christ died for our sins and he rose again from the dead and by faith in that good news you can be saved and now if you believe in that Gospel you come to God just simply as you are he promises to give you that free gift of eternal life when you repent of your sins and you trust in Christ and if you want to talk about it and during the worship time at the here in just a minute we're going to I'll I'll be over here you can talk to me you can catch me after service you can talk to that friend that invited you they would be happy to talk to you about what it means to follow Jesus head hand heart head I want you to know this that God's favor on you is unmerited okay if you are in Christ you didn't do anything to deserve that okay he loves you it was nothing special and Mary that prompted God to choose her and there was nothing special in you that caused God to have Grace on you and so remind yourself of the goodness of God towards you and his great love hand I want you to emulate Mary's response of humble submission I want you to emulate Mary's response of humble submission perhaps you're hearing you know that God is calling you to Salvation then by all means do it today is the day of salvation trust in the Lord come to him I can't save you go through Jesus maybe you're called to Ministry
Maybe that's what you're called to do or maybe you know that you need to make a relationship right or maybe you know that you need to carry the message of the Gospel to that neighbor across the street whatever it is humble yourself just like Mary did and say I'm a servant of the Lord heart I want you to believe the Lord's message to today the Gospel is true it's 100 true and it is true for you too that if you believe if you come to God just like you are he will receive you he will take you and he will make you new so I ask that you would respond to the Lord's message today let's all Stand Together and let's worship [Music] know you are not alone [Music] see what your God has done the Christ is born Christ is born [Music] Oh Come bitter and broken Taste of his perfect love Oh Come guilty and hiding was there is no need to run see what your God has done Christ is born [Music] for you he's the land who was given slain for our pardon his promise is peace for those who believe he is the Lamb who was given [Music] for our pardon his promise is [Music] though you have nothing is the offering now what your God has done Christ is born
Christ is born [Music] Christ is [Music] Christ is born for you [Music] foreign Lord God we've been here for two three hours now to worship you we've worship you through your word studying your word and discussing your word we've worshiped you through praise and songs and worshiped You by listening to your word priest Lord we pray that this is not the only day this week that we worship you that every day we worship you because we know that you're with us every minute we thank you for that Lord there's words of a song that say God thank you for the amazing amounts of your Amazing Grace we thank you for that Lord in your name we pray amen
