you Lord uh I pray for um just a service today I thank you so much for the ability to come into a place with the body and we can worship you and hear your word in Jesus name amen well it's uh my honor and privilege to be here this morning with you guys um you don't have to put up with me today so praise the Lord for that uh we do have uh brother Kenny v from the Missouri Baptist Children's Home uh you guys know we talk about them quite often in our church uh and uh uh pray for them give to them when you give uh to our our our general offering a portion of that goes to uh The Cooperative program which goes in it funds all of these different uh wonderful Ministries that Missouri Baptists get to participate in and uh uh I'm sure that brother Kenny's going to tell you a little bit more if you've been at our church for you know a little while you know that we talk about that quite often and so brother Kenny uh thank you for being here if y'all would just welcome him to the pulpit as he brings forth God's word [Applause] isn't it great that God gives us beautiful weather that we can come and worship his family amen now I have some requirements when I speak I like amens Hallelujah and praise the Lord okay number two if I ask a question you can shout out the answer it's okay we're family we talk in church anyway right we whisper to the next person person next to us so let's just enjoy being a family together in this building that God has provided for us first question what is a child's life worth can somebody give me a dollar amount so we're going to say Priceless right well in a minute we're going to discuss the the priorities of the church and when I say the church I'm not just talking about First Baptist camping

I'm talking about the people that say they're children of God I will compliment you all on what do you have a great children's ministry you have a great amount of Youth and children here I speak in churches that are pretty close to the size that have no children or you scary huh well guess what's going to happen to that church in 10 years it's going to close let's go to the Lord in prayer dear heavenly father I thank you for loving us Lord just touch our hearts without you we have nothing without you we do not have salvation Lord help us to understand that you want all of us not part of us if there's someone here that does not know you Lord I pray that they'll come to know you today Lord those that are hurting those that are struggling please put somebody in their path to be that Shining Light to them and Lord for those that are not living for you that are in this in this building Lord I pray that they will repent and turn back to you in your precious name amen going to turn to Mark 10 I know y'all been working on mark for a little while and u when start at verse 13 and they brought young children to him and that he should touch them and his disciples rebuked those that brought him brought them but when Jesus saw it he was much displeased and he said unto them suffer the little little children to come unto me forbid them not for of such is the kingdom of God verily I say unto you so who whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child he shall not enter therein and he took them up in his arms and he put his hands upon them and blessed them you know Jesus was love it's just amazing how sometimes as adults think

children are a bother Jesus had a great love for children because they had a great love for him because they had a great faith and I think that's something we struggle with as human beings today as Christians as our faith and that's the reason why I wanted to do Philippians 4:13 because if the Bible's true that scripture is true I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me amen so my first question in this first verse is why would we ever keep children from Jesus why my first experience in dealing with an adult that didn't want children in the church um I was at a church it was a pretty large church I had I did children's church my wife did the nursery I'd usually have anywhere from 40 to 60 kids by myself kindergarten through sixth grade once a month I would talk about salvation the whole training was about salvation and then halfway through the sermon I would bring them into the church very quietly very orderly it but you know something happened in that month before I brought the children in we got new padded pews I did that this sun that Sunday and I had a fellow Deacon I was the youngest Deacon so I probably didn't make the best decisions because I was the youngest came up to me and said don't you ever bring those nasty little kids in on our peers folks don't think that's only one church that does that it's everywhere children are nothing but a problem to churches we don't want to get buses and go pick them up we don't want to do any of the things we need to do to bring them here we don't want to offer programs for children we don't want to feed them right here in camton there are

children that are hurting and starving they need Jesus and they need you know um I'm not used to using notes so bear with me I didn't want to mess this up because I know this was part of his his series but this became another teaching moment because since leaving the Garden of Eden children were second class third class people if you look at our role today you will see that animals are more important than babies how many times do you see commercials on TV about giving money to save animals anybody seen those okay how many commercials have you seen on TV to give money to save babies zero do you understand where we're at as church if we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us then we have all the why power if God is on your side if God for you who can be against you so where's the church the disciples were still in the mindset their children are still a bother they actually thought they were doing the right thing by keeping the children from Jesus the church is doing that today we don't bring children to church to hear about Jesus we aren't concerned about their souls we are more worried about the financial cost or the work it might have that we might have to do I was talking to someone recently and they were talking about their Church um they're without a pastor and they didn't want to do Vacation Bible School so they hired another church to come and do it for them it was a Baptist Church Folks we have lost our love for children every child in this room is our future and if we're not willing to step up and fill our seats or pews or our rooms full of children and teach them about Jesus what are we going to

accomplish then in Psalms 1273 it says children are reward they are a gift from God they're not a mistake they're not mean stinking little rotten whatever you want to call them they are a gift from God anybody that wants to mouth out about a child they need to talk to God first because I guarantee you he'll straighten them out Amen in verse 14 is Christ is is Christ is pleased with the Christians of today when God looks at us as Believers are we doing what he has called us to do are we doing everything we can financially and physically to make sure children are here on Sunday morning how many of youall have neighbors that have children that don't go to church you know what you can do you can go to the neighbor and said can I take your children to church we have a special program and don't worry about it we have donuts for them they'll get breakfast and everything you know you have to feed them how hard would that be folks it's not hard see this is where you're supposed to be getting excited start getting pumped up that you're going to start bringing kidss to church amen are we getting excited we going to start bringing children to church amen all right okay can you think of children in the Bible that made a difference how old was King Josiah when he became king8 years old you know if you're not taught about Jesus when you're a child and I don't know if you all know this statistic but if a child does not become a Christian by age 19 93% of them will die and go to hell we're reaching

7% whose responsibility is it to reach the children amen how about people today I mean we we can look at Daniel and Joseph Shadrach mesach and Abednego they all stood their ground but they were raised to know God but how about people today how about uh cor tin boom that was raised as a Christian that helped hide the Jews from the Nazis think of the lives they saved because of Jesus about Harriet tugman Tubman that was enslaved but how she always was willing to talk about Jesus and tell people about Jesus how about Annie Armstrong how about Billy Graham was it 850,000 people came to Jesus because he was raised in a Christian Home became a Christian at 16 and surrendered to preach to God preach God's word wherever he went you don't think lives were changed because he was raised in a Christian home our children need to know Jesus there's a reason why the scriptures in here and we can't keep them from Jesus we need to bring them to Jesus God God has called us to bring children to him and teach them about him so they might receive him and be saved can you imagine seeing the lives of children being changed because we're bringing them here to see Jesus our country has murdered over 64 million babies which one of those could have been to the next Billy Graham folks it's up to us we're in a battle and we're losing our children the most abused people group in the world are our children our federal government lost 320,000 children that came across the border in the last 3 years and I'm going to tell you in a little bit where most of them wound up our federal government could care less about children our state government as a whole

can care less about children because it's our job to care about the children cuz they never will because they don't follow what God says we are supposed to to do that what do you put Faith in children put their faith in us adults but you know what most adults put their faith in their stuff their possessions when was the last time you truly put your faith in God I want you to think about that when was the last time you put truly put your faith in God you can't put your faith in people no your faith belongs only in God but see we just want to keep doing the same old things that we feel comfortable with and I want to tell you something if you feel comfortable in your life you're probably not living for God you're probably living for the other guy his name Satan and you know the average Christian will spend more time chasing after the world which means chasing after Satan than chasing after God in our churches today the number one answer when somebody asks what makes you a Christian I'm a member of a church number two answer I was baptized in the church number three answer I give to the church but see here's the thing our children have it right they put their faith in God but if they don't know who God is then they have to put their faith in man that's where we make the difference but Kenny it costs money you know to buy Vans and get people to drive them I'm going to tell you about a church it's not a Southern Baptist Church an independent Baptist Church it's in the middle of cornfields near a town of about 4,000 people they have four school buses four Church van a husband and wife team take care of

each one they're out every Saturday visiting they'll run almost 400 children in Vacation Bible School alone last year 456 children they had 76 salvations they run 5 to 600 on Sunday adults and children they'll have 150 to 200 children in youth every Wednesday night in fact I was talking to one of the uh drivers bus Ministry and he said he'll see children standing out at the end of the street at their subdivision an hour and a half before he's supposed to pick them up because they love coming to church we have a 29y old mom and her 5-year-old daughter living with us it's just a it's it's been a great experience trying to teach somebody what love is the mom's Never Been Loved started being abused by stepdad at age four so she's got a 5-year-old daughter so she doesn't really know love except for the best this mom could do that little 5-year-old loves church she never wants to miss church she always going how many more days to church she's going through the house singing the B Jesus Loves Me Just loving it she does it out in public these children need Jesus and it's up to us as the adults to bring Jesus to them or bring them here to Jesus so my challenge is for every adult in this room it doesn't matter your age because if I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me that means we can do what all things amen is that a promise from God and who's has the most power did God did Jesus not tell say to us that we'd have greater power than what he had what was bestowed here on this earth when he was here we would have greater power so we have zero excuse to not fill our churches full of children because we have unlimited funds because God has unlimited money we have unlimited time because God takes care of your time we can do it all there's nothing we

cannot do but we need to start taking care of our children how can you show the love of Christ to our children can anybody think of a what way to show love the love of Christ to our children can anybody think of a way what's one of our things we do on Sunday morning Sunday school okay uh what's another way what do we pray what else can we do do can we bring them to Vacation Bible School what else can we do can we take them to church camp you know we'll have more children saved during vacation bible school and church camp than any other time in the year so where should we put a lot of money and time Vacation Bible School and church camp that should be simple how many of you all have ever considered doing backyard Bible clubs taking the Vacation Bible School outside in the community you how many here have ever done backyard Bible clubs they're blast they are so much fun every church should do them yeah it takes a little bit of time but your time belongs to God right amen so you don't really have an excuse this is what you have to do you're called to go so you have to go so let's go tell the children about Jesus amen another way is at school you all have a school here you get to tell them about Jesus but being involved in the schools as a church being involved if there's a youth something going on with youth be a part of it they had the uh bicycle team that uh Brad Bennett does down in Salem Missouri anybody know where Salem Missouri is one night 300 people gave their life to Christ isn't that amazing

300 that's more than what's in the in the building right now we need to be involved in our children's lives and every other child we can be involved with we need to be Jesus to the children that's your calling that's everyone's calling in this room if you say you're a Christian you're supposed to be like Jesus and it says suffer the little children to come unto me do not ever keep the children from Jesus amen uh I've been with the children's home for almost seven years and uh it's absolutely changed my life it's been really exciting has been heartbreaking because there's a lot of bad things that go on in our country and in in our state I just got a statistic the other day that we're number three in the nation for domestic abuse number three and you wonder why our children have problems I want you to think about that we're number three in domestic abuse how's that look upon the church we started in 1886 I want to give a shout out to all the women in the church you know without women in the church we'd probably have closed most of our doors is that right ladies you can you can give yourselves a hand you all do a lot of work but it was four women in 1882 that saw how bad things were in St Louis children begging for food babies crawling in mud and you know in 1882 women didn't have a whole lot of power right but they had the power of God and they had compassion and they raised enough money in four years to buy a house on Morgan Street and hire a Christian couple to run it you know when God is for you no one can be against you when you're doing

what God has called you to do guess what's going to happen that's going to happen but over the years years we've we've done many things but we started out as an orphanage but you know things change things change within the state we went from being an orphanage because we were so large and we started taking children from the state we had to start doing foster care and adoption which last year we placed 354 children 254 children in Christian Foster and kinship homes and we adopted out 162 children to Christian homes you know we're one we are the last Children's Home of our size in the state of Missouri that will only hire Christians and will only put children in Christian homes now some people say well you know what what's the difference well let me explain to you very simple in this home where they're being abused Satan has total control they don't have a chance but when you get to move them from a Satan controlled home to over here where God's in control can you imagine the difference totally opposite they get to experience the love of God because you know God is love and you can't love anyone unless God is in you these children need God so it's amazing to see the change I was at a church down uh down near Cape and I had a young man come up to me afterwards I think he's 12 years old he said that was me I said what do you mean he said I was the one that went from Darkness to light my life was changed and I know Jesus now he's with a family of six they've adopted six children it's just amazing to see what people do I was in a church where a husband and wife they're in their 80s now had 39 children come through their home they adopted seven of them and number 309 still lives with them he's 12 years old you know it doesn't matter what your

situation is because God has the answer we need to Foster if you're 72 or younger you can foster foster love those children the last four children we had in our home the youngest was of course only 5 days old when she came to us but her her older siblings the last night can we ask Jesus into our heart that's what it's all about our children are our greatest resource they're our future we need to be loving all of them period God put us other challenges in front of us taking care of teen girls that are pregnant 247 girls um we worked with last year we didn't lose a single baby [Applause] amen the first thing we do is we take them to the hospital so they can see there there's a baby in IDE them that's first and if you have a Pregnancy Resource Center which I know you do you might have two near here every woman ladies forgive me but don't forgive me because it don't make any difference I'm going to say it anyway every woman in this church should spend at least one day a week or month at the Pregnancy Resource Center they need to know who Jesus is and they need somebody that knows Jesus to be there for them that's our responsibility folks that's more important than going to Walmart and buying a wats it that's more important than fixing a meal that you're probably not going to eat we need to take the time God has given us and love others unconditionally and ladies you're the only one that can go to the Pregnancy Resource Centers us men aren't allowed unless something's changed but God said you know you need to take care of teens on drugs we'll lose more teens this year than ever before on drugs because of fit all I mean now they're just leaving Loose Change on parking lot with

fit all on it to see if they can kill somebody it's just it's just not good but see a lot of our children don't know Jesus they've never heard about Jesus the only time they ever heard about God is in in vain being cussed we took on a we we have a home in Springfield everybody needs to go visit it it's in Brookline it's our Down syndrome home young adults you want to meet some happy people if you're having a bad day drive to Brookline in Springfield visit the home there you'll leave ecstatic you'll say man I'm blessed and I invite everyone in this room to go there call in advance set up a time and just be there but God asked us to take on a challenge that has been a struggle for us how many of you all have heard of human trafficking raise your hand okay let me give you some really scary statistics Missouri ranks number two down to number seven in human trafficking we're one of the worst states in the nation in human trafficking we're one of the worst states in the nation in the amount of foster children we have we're one of the worst states in the nation in spouse abuse domestic abuse does that bother you since we have more churches per capita than almost any other state who's failing the church that's not a politician's job because I've actually spoken a few in front of them so I know how they feel about it they're not getting rich off of it so it don't matter but you know we took care we take care of young women rescued from human trafficking in St Louis in Kansas City I was at a church in ptoi Missouri a young lady come up to me and she said I need to speak to you after church I said not a problem so a bunch of us went to the

same restaurant and she was talking to me she said I'm a casew worker for the state of Missouri I said thank you for your work that's awesome she said I just need to tell you I love the Missouri Baptist Children's Home I said 'well yeah I love the Missouri Baptist Children's Home she said' no I really love the Missouri Baptist Children's Home she said a young girl young woman young girl was brought to me she was 17 she had been owned by four different men there in poosi and as adults we know what that means they call it branded she was branded by four different men the state has no place for them to go she took her to St Louis to the Missouri Baptist Children's Home approximately nine months later that young girl comes back to pososi to find the casew worker and she finds a caseworker and she say want you know I love you thank you for taking me there I know Jesus now my life has changed I'll never be that person again I will never come back to pososi but thank you for loving me enough to take me S somewhere where I'll be loved folks that's what the Children's Home is about we love everybody it doesn't matter where they've been what they've done we're going to love them unconditionally we're going to be there for them and we couldn't do it without you all we do get money from the convention but that run the children's home for about two and a half weeks and we'd have to close the doors it's the churches that give during vacation bible school or Penny marches or birthday offerings or people that give individually because there's plenty of people in this room that give individually and I want to

thank you for that you're an absolute blessing CU without you all we could not that young girl probably would never met Jesus she'd probably still be in the same situation she was in that's what I'm talking about the church standing up and showing God's love to the children it's not a it's not a choice folks it's a command he commanded all of us to go and tell we're also supposed to go out in the highways and byways and compel them to come in and if I'm not correct that word means whatever it takes whatever it takes doesn't matter the cost a child's life is priceless it doesn't do matter how much time it takes you just got to do it I want to take a few more minutes uh hopefully some of you all got brochures did anyone get how many of y'all got brochures can you hold them up children's home brochures yeah hold them up in the air that way I can see how bad of a job I did hopefully a bunch of you got them because they were supposed to be at the doors but if you didn't that's okay I have more and I can leave them here I need you those that have those can you open those up and there's a page you can write on tear off that last page by raise of hand how many of youall believe in prayer raise your hand how many of y'all believe God answers prayer all right if you have that brochure you just committed to being a prayer partner that's the first thing on the list so you need to fill it out and check the prayer partner box if you want to give that that's totally up to you I don't ask I'm not here to ask you to give that's between you and God but if you want to give I can tell you how you can give you can write a check if you're writing a check make it to nbch and in the dollar line put $50,000 hey that's a good laughter I got

more noise that time than earlier come on all right no I'm just kidding I'd have a heart attack uh don't do that you be G to ambulance real quick but um just put nbch uh if you're giving cash dollar or $10 you're going to fold these in half and you're going to give them to me after church I'm going to stay up here in front that means if you got that door you still got to walk up here if you go out that door you're going to walk right past me if you go out that door you're going to walk right past me so that means you might have to walk a little little way out of your way but there's nothing wrong with a little sacrifice as Believers we're supposed to sacrifice every day right amen amen yeah okay um if you if you want to give online you can just circle this you're and give online if you want reminders I can mail you envelopes so just circle send me reminders and let me know how many years you're going to give that way I can send you the right amount of envelopes now if you you say 10 years and I'm probably going to drive and drop them off to you CU I need to talk to you it's like woohoo yeah um next thing on their foster care and adoption everybody should be involved in foster care and everybody should try to adopt well I just can't afford it well God can God's the one that always makes the way we can change lives that's what it's about we're supposed to be Life Changers through Jesus last two things how many of y'all like giving your money to the state of Missouri at the end of the year raise your hand if you could give that same amount of money to the Children's Home and then turn around and get a 70% tax credit would that be good amen all right so here's the deal if you owe state taxes at the end of the year or you know you're going state taxes and you know approximately how much you just write a

check out to nbch and at a on the memo line put 70% tax credit and all the paperwork's done for you and then you just take your paperwork to the your accountant or if you do your own taxes and you use different programs you'll be able to do it um last thing how many of you all want to see this church still going a 100 years from now cool now how many of yall would like to be able to say when you left this Earth you left a gift for the church is that amen hallelujah okay instead of doing a will if you do a charitable trust and you pass away whoever you're going to leave your stuff possessions to they will be paid over 20 years they will get twice as much money over that 20 years as if you gave it to them up front and plus any capital gains is 78% taxfree because it's a charitable T trust at the end of the 20 years what's left over can come right here so you've been running around Heaven running up and down the the gold streets chasing after Jesus and all the disciples they're all your old family and 20 years of course we don't have time in heaven but 20 years later you're still giving a great gift to this church it's called a legacy you're leaving a legacy for God and this church if you're interested in any of that and you have any of those brochures just check the box and if you have any questions afterwards I'll be around you can ask me but I have a question for everybody in this room do you know Jesus if you know Jesus are you really living for Jesus how much of your time is given to God and how much your time is given to what you want to do is God really first in your life because if he's not first he's

last you can't use that verse to be last is to be first because that doesn't work in that situation God has to be first in everything the great commandment Lov him with all your heart soul strength and mind and love who your what neighbor as wouldn't that be children also okay and there's some of you here that might not know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior if you were to die today you would go to hell hell is real it's a place of torment and if God says torment he means torment it's a place you can't get out of you're separated from God forever there's no peace if you don't want to go there you need to come forward today and talk to the pastor you need to get that fixed today because you might not have an afternoon you might not even have it tomorrow either we don't know when our time is up but my challenge to everyone in this room is to get closer to God and fill this building with children and you if the adults have to go in another room and watch it on a jumbo Dron that's okay then we can put paded chairs in there too got a buy them not a problem but let's do everything we can for our children let's bring them all to Jesus and let's make a difference don't be like the disciples don't keep them away bring them home bring them home to Jesus as a pastor comes and the musicians come we're going to have a time of prayer for everyone will stand and as I said I'll be down here if you filled that out I'll be down here in your front but what's more important to me is where you are in your

Missouri Baptist Children's Home uh how about I pray a blessing over us as we go from here don't forget that we have the family Tech seminar uh right after this with potluck and stuff like that down at the other end of the building father we love you uh thank you so much for uh Miss Mona thank you for brother Kenny as he just uh uh challenged us so clearly Lord to invest in children thank you for the many parents that are here uh that are committed to raising Godly children Lord uh but Lord as you know uh there's so many uh even even neighbors that that we bring Lord uh that that don't come from Christian homes Lord and if we don't reach them no one will uh and so help us Lord to uh take that seriously um uh I'm a product of that of uh families reaching kids and so help us Lord to gain that god-sized vision of what it means to step out of our comfort zone uh many of us are so busy many of us are homeschoolers many of us are uh public schoolers you know that we all have different things that we can uh make excuses for but as brother Kenny said uh you own time and you own resources and so we trust you with that help us Lord uh to glorify you uh and and bring children into the kingdom uh For Your Glory in Jesus name amen for
